FINALLY! Moving back to Canada

After a year and a half of applying for jobs, 2 very near misses(1.you were one of our strongest candidates, 2.we had to hire an internal candidate) I finally got the call yesterday, "I have good news, we think you would be a great fit with us, and would like to offer you the position"
I was driving when I got the call, my bluetooth had somehow disconnected at some point, I was driving up to an intersection and saw the number and knew it was them. Quick mad scramble for the phone, pulled over, and answered. Shew!
Stood on the side of the road with my wife and daughter hugging each other.
We are beyond excited!!!!
We're heading to Toronto...my old stomping grounds. Did a LOT of living there back in the 80's, but I'm much better now!
They will be emailing me the official offer and terms either today or Monday, and unless there is something in there about supporting the Harper government, I will most definately be accepting.
The money is about 15k more than I am making now...so that's a nice little bonus.
So I'll be packing up the truck, renting a u-haul and it will be me and my trusy dog Sandy for a cross country trip...my wife and daughter will wrap up business here and be there in time for school to start.

<----- says it all!

Are you a citizen? If you can vote, please help us oust the Harper regime. In Toronto, you're definitely going to want to vote in the mayoral elections, too.

Anyway, congrats, and welcome.

And yes, I will do what I can to oust Harper and his quasi-Bush like regime. I've also been following the antics of Crazy Rob Ford and his equally insane brother!

So many emotions right now...lack of sleep, so much to do to move...but we'll make it happen. Where there's a will there's a way.
I already have a couple friends house hunting for us.
Not looking to buy, but hope to get something in the 1500-1700/mth range and of course close to GO, TTC/Subway if possible...Mississauga may be one place..my friend lives there and says he loves it. He works at the Royal York and loves being able to get deep into the city, but then return to the quieter burb....

Sorry to say, but enough is enough...time for my American wife and daughter to do time in my country.
I asked my daughter today what she thought about becoming a Canadian citizen, and she didn't miss a beat, "Definately!"

I keep applying for jobs there, but I don't see many listed in my field.

Just roll me up in a carpet and stow me in the trunk. I'll get a job later.
