(34,457 posts)The bartender may have been hungover but his great stunts were more fun to watch than the "dancers."
And where did that blond guy come from near the end of the video? They couldn't have found a way to edit him in earlier?
Low budget fun.

(27,247 posts)specifically, back to a time when we had a really big snow that closed school for several days, and my mom was constantly watching the local weather channel (which was little more than alternating views of various weather gauges), and they played that song in the background every few minutes. Ahh, good times

(41,984 posts)Of course in my own defense, I discovered it the way all middle aged white women did, by seeing Sandra Bullock do it in this fabulous scene:
But damn, I woke up in the middle of the night for WEEKS after I heard the original. I was so embarrassed.

(5,364 posts)That bass line just stays with you and Grace Slick's vocals go through my head like a pole axe. It must have something when it first came out, but I was only 5 years old then.

(3,879 posts)Prince Ali, fabulous he, aleababwa. Don't even know the words, but the melody plays over and over in my head. The whistling theme from the Andy Griffith Show. The theme from the Bugs Bunny TV Show (Overture, light the lights, this is it, we'll hit the heights, no more rehearsing and nursing a part . . . ).

(14,177 posts)followed some random link and listened watched the video it was fascinating. I found out later that this was really a protest. The Soviet Gov didn't like the words so he was banned from singing them so he Tro la loo la'd them instead and I dunno the combination of that and a some what cheesy performance by US cultural standards has me hooked.

(955 posts)Because I actually love it.
If I hear a word, or a phrase that reminds me of a song in A Chorus Line, I'll immediately start to sing the song
If I hear the word unemployment, I immediately sing, "dancing for my own enjoyment" from Dance: ten; looks: three, and if I hear the word, genetic, I immediately say, "they don't have bobsleds in San Juan" and I start to sing, "Nothing."
