Mandatory wearing of those seatbelts started state-by-state in 1984 -- now all states have
SOME form of mandatory wearing law except New Hampshire.

Star Trek went off air about the time car seat belts became common.



Not everyone had a new car with seat belts.

Hell the show had transporters so why not some kind off seat belts for the crew.



This could make your head hurt.
