I got a traffic ticket today.

Was frantically cleaning my house as my son is having 3 friends spend the night for his b-day. They are all here now playing Minecraft.

My son got molds last week for an expander and braces (we paid over 5 grand up front on a cc to get a $400 discount) and over the 4th 2 bands fell out. I called the emergency line twice and nobody called back. I called them today and they said bring him in asap, so I get my kids ready in 20 minutes.

I'm really careful at this 4 way intersection even though it's back roads and not busy but I know cops hang out there. Apparently I didn't come to a complete stop, and then see the lights behind me.

When it rains, it pours, but it could be worse.

Fuck me.

1. Haven't had a ticket in a very long time, but I tend to "space out" when driving & thus am at risk..

What has helped me tremendously is buying a Prius hybrid. I find I am sort of obsessed with getting/keeping my gas mileage as high as possible (sort of a little game I play with myself) that I have become a LOT more aware about my speed, stoplights and signs, and the like. I swear I probably would have had a ticket in the past couple of years if I hadn't gotten it.

I feel your pain, though. Too bad the cop didn't.

I didn't expect the cop to be sympathetic. They never are where I live. My husband already gave me the lecture that I'm a leadfoot. He claims when he drives the hybrid he gets 32 mpg, and when I drive it it gets 27.

Whatever. Thanks though.

I've had four. My last one (for traveling too fast) was thrown out thanks to my lawyer.

It seems like cops know whenever I'm on the road.

I put my shorts back on but had a dollar store calculator in my back pocket. They pulled out guns and tasers. My wife was freaked out but all I wanted was a drink of water.

I was driving our old Camry, and when you press the button to make the window go down, it won't go back up in the hot weather. I knew better than to get out of the car, so the window is down, we are getting a major thunderstorm and due to the fact our garage needs some major cleaning, my husband put plastic over the window when I got home to prevent the inside from getting wet.

Looks really classy. We are shopping around for a new car so don't want to sink any money into it especially since we have the AC running all the time when driving it since it's hot as hell here. I don't even want to think what could have happened if I opened the car door when the cop approached me, even with my kids in the car. Scary.

The correct answer is "Yes, occifer, I failed to come to a complete stop. I was masturbating."
