(5,128 posts)If you need help getting off Nutella, I suggest almond butter at Whole Foods. Far less sugar, nice nuttiness.

... probably because so many spoke of it in orgasmic terms and my expectations were dashed.

It wasn't bad... but compared to what I had hoped for, it was simply "Meh."

As to being "healthy," I know damn well it has sugar and chocolate in it.

(46,757 posts)It is sinfully good, and for the longest time it had been advertised as nutritional. Now we know that it is sinful, but good.

(2,977 posts)Great to dip pretzels in, make peanut butter / chocolate bagels, etc. Healthy not so much, delicious - oh, hell yes! We're used to hazel nuts, they grow everywhere around here.

(36,827 posts)A little real whipped cream and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Sliced bananas thrown in is a nice touch also. The French eat the hell out of it that way.

(8,646 posts)I don't eat much of it, because I try to avoid too much sugar (hypoglycemia) but my kids love it. It's good as a fruit dip, in crepes, with banana sandwiches. It was a good substitute when my kids weren't allowed peanut butter because of a kid with peanut allergies in their class, but nutella was ok.
