Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWhy oh why did I do tequila shots in the parking lot before Iron Maiden's show Saturday?
I live in SC, and have been waiting years for Maiden to come to the southeast, ATL or Charlotte, and a few months ago when I found out they were doing both cities this year, it was a done deal. When tix went on sale we grabbed some good seats and started the countdown. This past Friday we packed up and headed for Atlanta.
We bummed around ATL on Friday night, then got lunch Saturday afternoon and headed out to the show, but not before filling a cooler with beer and a bottle of tequila for a little pre-show party in the parking lot.
A couple hours and several shots later, we're in the gate and...I don't remember much else. Tequila does strange things to me, and I know better, but damn, I did it anyway. I left those seats before the opener, Alice Cooper, came on, and spent the entire show on the lawn or walking around, or something, I'm not sure - it's all kind of a blank. I definitely was not watching the show...and now I have all the receipts of being at a Maiden show, with none of the memories.
Damn you tequila! Damn you!
Videos of the show all over youtube now. Here's one of many pics my bro in law took from the seats we had. Well that they had... I could kick myself.

I feel for ya bro.
I was once at an Ozzy/Queensryche show and a kid in front of me stood up screamed "OOOOZZZZYYYYYYYYYY" during the entire Queensryche set and then passed out before Ozzy came on....after the show his buddies were laughing at him and waking him up and he was kind of crying "it's ooover? I missed alllll of it????"

(100,099 posts)My brother and I are huge fans of Tom Morello and Rage Against The Machine - and when we found out Coachella was their first real gig in 7 years we there. The second day was the Red Hot Chili Peppers were headlining. Before we got there we were drinking Gentlemen Jack - you think Tequila is bad... the area of that day from around 1:00 PM when we got there to 7:00 PM is a complete blank in my mind.I've heard stories though but I don't remember a damn thing. Needless to say I haven't touched Gentleman Jack since .

But if it makes you miss awesome shows maybe I best not try it...

(6,829 posts)Very bad move. I got the hooch just outside the venue, ordered the biggest soft drink I could, then dumped the soda contents and poured in the 'shine. It ate through the cup rather quickly.

On the other hand, at least you were "there" right?
BTW, saw Alice Cooper with Queensryche summer before last. That guy still puts on a hell of a show.
