Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsMy good friend's cat is in serious medical trouble...
Her handsome boy has pneumonia, and EITHER has
a serious abccess
Or
cancer in an inoperatable place
She's got the antibiotics yesterday, but has to get another determative test.
His name is Joshua.
So any prayers, healings vibes, good thoughts etc his way would be very much appreciated.
Thank you. 🙂

(25,908 posts)I am not sure how to say this, but I'll try. We are all here for a relatively short time. Let's celebrate the life we have. Not try to extend things into an indefinite future, but acknowledge how short life can be.
I do hope there is a good outcome here. With love and kindness to Joshua.

(29,227 posts)possibly from a chicken bone she may have eaten.
I took her to 3 vets to get some sort of answer... and they were all telling me "best to put her down" or "it will cost $5,000 to do the surgery and then we will possibly not find the perforation"...
Finally I convinced the last vet to give me anti-biotics... and pain meds... and told my niece she would have to stay up all night for maybe 2 or 3 nights and give the cat the medicine and the water via a syringe. She did and the cat got better... that was 5 years ago.
Still cost me like $1200 in vet bills... but I was happy the cat made it and my niece (who was 16) wasn't heart broken.
Miracles (and medicine) can happen.
Hope your friend's cat survives this.

(14,956 posts)who's a serious animal person will do what she can, research etc.
If (hopefully not) it's cancer she'll monitor, see if anything holistic will help, give him all the cuddles he asks for and if he's in too much distress at some point then she'll let him go.
Glad your niece's cat got well. 👍

(209 posts)I hope he can rally. I hope he can "hunt & chase." Most of all, I hope he can purr in the comfort of his guardian for however long is possible.
