(46,723 posts)And post them in the Lounge. But then, I suspect your prospects of serving on a future jury would be severely affected.

(205,467 posts)I had no idea, doesn't seem like that many. I once noticed someone who had served that many times and my jaw dropped. Maybe it was you, LOL. Makes me feel better about the jury system, knowing you've been serving so regularly...

I've found more and more cases where I'm being asked to adjudicate posts about language in forums and groups I don't frequent, and I'm not going to invest more than a minute or two investigating the relevant history. So I toss the fish back.
I don't think it's fair to the alerter or the poster to flip a coin or to have a blanket "let it stay" or "hide" reaction in cases that aren't clear to me. So I just walk away.

(49,991 posts)And almost always we (the other jurors and I) agree on what should or shouldn't get hidden.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,627 posts)I was thrilled, my dear Ptah, to see your totals were higher than mine, lol! I was afraid I held the record...
And Raven: I find that I'm in agreement with the majority most of the time.....not all, though!
And I too opt out if I can't understand what's going on. I think that's the fair thing to do...

(72,790 posts)I chose not to serve on a jury.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,627 posts)No one should do it if they don't want to.
Wait Wut
(8,492 posts)I was just noticing that I'm getting called for jury duty much more often than a week or so ago. Lot's of nasty banter goin' on.

(28,394 posts)Lately, I've been getting a "summons" shortly after logging on.
I have turned down a number of requests, too... usually for the guns forum.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,627 posts)You can opt out of having any forum being part of your jury list...
I forget how to do it, though.
Skinner talked about that, and so I opted out of having the gun forum part of my list.
femmocrat
(28,394 posts)Right after I answered your post, I got another jury request for the gun forum!!!
Why can't they just get along over there?

(34,136 posts)Since the knee surgery. I'm way too mellow with the meds I'm still taking and don't think I'd be tough enough for a jury.
