My wife is so predictable! The CFO with one of her clients is resigning his position. He brought her

in as a consultant. In order that she wouldn't lose the gig when he leaves he wanted her to agree to a $50K/year retainer. He included language in the contract that commits the company to a minimum two year term. If they choose to terminate the agreement they would have to pay an early termination penalty.

He has full authority to execute the contract.

She declined telling him that she would prefer to continue to work on a project basis being paid either a negotiated hourly rate or per assignment upset maximum. She explained that the firm should have the flexibility to select consultants as they see fit and not be obligated to her.

Damn, she is so ethical! But I would never expect anything else of her.
