That royally pisses me off. The field belongs on the left whether vertical or horizontal. And yes, you can get a squirrel to do such things. You just need fresh peanuts.

I thought it was that the Army wore their flag patches on the left shoulder (common practice in most armies of the world) and pilots wore them on the right. Anyway, flag protocol states that the star field should fly as if carried on a staff; thus the blue field should fly to the "front", making the right shoulder patch, not the left, the version that's flying "backwards" (or rather, seen as from the reverse side of the flag).
