I've recently started watching the series Dark on Netflix.

It's a German series (I think it is dubbed in English for Netflix) with supernatural elements to it, including time traveling.

I've heard it described as Stranger Things meets Lost meets Chernobyl meets several other shows.

Honestly, I don't know a whole lot about it. But in visually in terms of atmospheric presentation, it's really impressive. It gives off a very foreboding, spooky vibe. So I guess that's what drew me towards it.

Without giving away any major spoilers, has anyone else seen this show and was it worthwhile?

Found it very enjoyable. It’s much artier than Stranger Things, though less character-focused in some ways, and the plot is like pea soup, but I really liked it and hope it comes back.

It was a very intriguing series to watch. As with many time travel stories, sometimes difficult to follow the characters in their different time lives. Much darker than Stranger Things.

But would recommend.

which I'll have to catch up on. I hate dubbed dialogue, though, because their lips don't sync with what you hear and the dialogue can be awkward because they are trying to make it match but it never does - however, you can change it back to German with English subtitles in Netflix' settings, which I did. I'd rather read subtitles than be distracted by dubbed dialogue.

rewatching it in German, as at first I didn't know you could switch (yeah, I'm slow . The voices in the English dubbed version make the characters seem kind of cartoonish, it's not at all like that in German.

I do think it kind of needs to be watched twice unless one is very good at following things. I was lost the first round with all the different actors and times.

Often times my wife is asleep next to me, so I'll already have the sound down and I just rely on the captions. So I don't think it really matters which language it is in, because no matter what, I'm reading the dialogue more than listening to it.

I just finished a Norwegian show on Netflix, Occupied. (Which is great--definitely recommend it.) At one point I noticed parts of the dialogue were in English (where the Norwegian characters were talking to Russian characters) and I now wonder if the dialogue wasn't actually dubbed.

because it can get away from you without a running score card of the characters in each time frame.

AWESOME!

We watched it in German. You can change the setting on Netflix so you can watch it in the native language. IMO, this is better because you have to pay closer attention (VERY much needed) and it doesn't have that dubbed look, which really bothers me (though it does not bother others).

The ending is actually satisfying.
