Has anyone ever generated a Wikipedia account?

Last year I wanted to add something to a page so created an account.

And I got a welcome email form.. "Red Director."

Now I wanted to add on another page and it does not recognize my username and password.

So I asked to generate a new password and get the same welcome - this time on a Wikipedia page.

It end:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to ask me on my talk page or place {{Help me}} on this page and someone will drop by to help. So now, even though I am logged in had to double check the link - the "Red Director" and this is what it opened

Salvation through Jesus Christ

Admitting you are a sinner

Romans 3:23 -

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Romans 6:23 -

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

and more..

A whole proselytizing page. Unless Wikipedia has been hacked. WTF?

6. Just like 90% of DU is written by about 1 percent of DU members. No big deal.

7. I created my Wikipedia account in 2004, so things have changed. Might be a private welcome

It might be a welcome sent out by that user on their own initiative.
