(1,665 posts)and we are HOOKED! We use it for so much now.
And leftovers are 100000% better reheated in there than in the microwave!

(937 posts)We received it for Christmas and it was sitting in the garage. We got bored one day in quarantine and decided we would take it out and try some things and it has never left the counter. I highly recommend them!!

(21,164 posts)He wants a fancier model now. We reheat, fry chicken and much more. It really is a good appliance. I dont know how to use it though.

(12,132 posts)it was tiny but only 40 bucks. We haven't even opened it and my wife already wants to return it because it seems like it will be too small PLUS they make a bigger one in different colors and to her, the color matching her kitchen is most important lol.
Maybe some day I will get to experience the wonder of air frying.

(15,810 posts)I have an Instant Pot pressure cooker and they came out with an air fryer lid for it. Cleanup is just throwing the stainless basket in the dishwasher.
Some of them are set up like a toaster oven. Some of them have this pull out basket thing. I prefer to not have any non stick so stainless steel and easy cleaning is a must for me!

(15,810 posts)I love making bacon in it- I mean, we dont have bacon very often but when we do, air fryer bacon is awesome because it doesnt cook in the grease.
I also love making just basic frozen chicken tenderloins in it - just sprinkle with some seasoning and hit the button. Works for a quick dinner on a hot day!

(25,183 posts)we just don't have the counter space. We bought a nice house here in SC a few years ago, but it has no more counter space than our one bedroom condo in NY had.

(38,318 posts)Frozen chimichagas come out perfectly, crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside. I microwave them first, just enough to defrost them and then I put them in the air fryer for about nine minutes at 370.
Frozen breaded calamari is another treat.
It's possible to cook healthier foods as well. Cauliflower with various olive oil dressings turns out well. So does fish.
My guilty pleasure is fancy home-made (or home-made style) sausage. Our air fryer is the next best thing to a charcoal grill.
I also cook "impossible" sorts of vegetarian burgers for the vegans and vegetarians in our family. Our air fryer can cook three veggie burgers at a time, or five or six veggie sausages, while the hunters and fishers in our family are crowding the grill.
Alas we haven't enjoyed a big family get-together since March. This pandemic sucks.
The rule-of-thumb for cooking is the same as for convection ovens -- temperature 25 F degrees lower, and 3/4 the ordinary oven cooking time.
