Boog the chocolate lab took on a black bear this morning

He’s ok the bear was stuffed and mounted. Went to pick up a shimano spinning reel ultralight a friend fixed. He has the stuffed bear. Boog growled hackles we’re up barking man danger then he figured it out and calmed down.

Jake was little he used to go nuts over those stone lions that some people have in front of their driveways. He was such a brute.

the hides still carry scent and real looking big thing sure does it.

I miss fishing. There isn't any real good fishing here in Az. Man made lakes with stocked bass and trout.
In Oregon I lived right on the Deschutes River and caught several nice sized trout every time I fished.
When I got my rig out of the closet, the cats would howl with delight.
My landlord was an old Klickitat Indian (i lived on the Warm Spring Rez). I think he was part Chinese too
but would not fess up to it. He took me to his home in nearby Madras where his daughter looked after him
and into his basement. He had about a dozen fine spinning rods on the wall. "Pick one woodsman."
I had a thinning contract with the Forest Service. A wonderful old man who became a mentor.
My black lab Miles would jump in the river, but not for long---it was quite cold.
