Bristol Palin’s Lifetime Reality Series Bombs

Bristol Palin’s Lifetime Reality Series Bombs

The premiere of Lifetime‘s new reality series Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp last night drew an underwhelming 726,000 total viewers and 254,000 adults 18-49. The series starring Sarah Palin’s daughter fell dramatically from its lead-in Dance Moms, which delivered 1.8 million total viewers and 992,000 18-49s. Life’s A Tripp, which had received negative reviews almost across the board, also was well below the debut of the Lifetime’s now-defunct Roseanne Barr docureality series Roseanne’s Nuts, which opened with 1.6 million total viewers and 863,000 in adults 18-49 before falling off precipitously in subsequent airings

Yeah, like any of us are shocked about that one.

BTW the reviews sucked for the show too.

1. It used a lot of footage that was originally shot for the Bristol/Massey brothers reality show.

The one that no network expressed any interest in.

Gryphen at Immoral Minority predicted the Massey brothers would get screwed over by the Palins somehow, someway. Although I guess it didn't take any psychic skills to make that prediction.

TV BLEND Massey Brothers Suing Bristol Palin's New Lifetime Reality Series

When Lifetime announced Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp, a new show following Bristol Palin as she finishes up her tenure in Los Angeles and moves back to Alaska to be near her family, the show seemed similar to another reality show Palin recently had in the works. The earlier series, set for Bio, was supposed to follow Palin after she moved with her 3-year-old son to Los Angeles to room with Disney stars Christopher and Kyle Massey. The show was scrapped after Palin opted to return to Alaska to reside, instead. Life's a Tripp begins with Palin moving to Los Angeles and because both shows were meant to give audiences a foothold into Palin’s everyday life as a single mom, Palin's former roommates the Massey brothers believe they have some rights to the money associated with Lifetime’s brand new show.

8. I like the 'chick flics' on the Lifetime Movie Network

Maybe I'm weird but I'm a mystery buff and they show a lot of murder mysteries, although I have to admit that the murderer almost always is male (usually a rogue husband or boyfriend).

3. I'm not sure for what audience this show wouldn't suck.

No matter how high the productions values, the bottom line is, who is interested? Virtually no one. I think this show probably got a higher viewership than it deserved. Once the novelty is worn off, it'll be down to 150K viewers and then die a silent lonely death.

Bristol Palin Has Regrets About Latest Reality Show

14 June 2012 11:13 AM, PDT | Aol TV. | See recent Aol TV. news »

Bristol Palin is back in the TV spotlight yet again, with a new reality show called "Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp" premiering next week on LIfetime. It's the third reality TV go-round for Sarah Palin's oldest daughter after stints on "Dancing With The Stars" and "Sarah Palin's Alaska." The new show will be centered on Palin's re-located life in Los Angeles as she raises her 3-year-old son Tripp.

Monday on “Fox & Friends," Palin indicated she some regrets about the way the show turned out. "If I would have known it was my own name and so much in my life is gonna be shown on this show, I think I would reconsider it and think about it more," she said.

Controversy is already plaguing "Life's A Tripp." While filming, Palin got into an altercation with a man at a bar, and cell-phone video of the heated exchange went viral. »
