(65,490 posts)8. When I was 10 and we lived in Florida, we had a baby Cayman (dwarf crocodile) as a pet.
It was a much less enlightened time. I cringe now that these babies were sold like that.

This is not safe. I love reptiles. I have a pet corn snake. The worst he can do to me is draw a drop of blood with his tiny, sharp teeth. And yes, I do find it very calming to have him slither on me. But you have to be realistic. If that alligator gets big enough, he could easily kill a small child.
