Did you know that goldfish are intelligent enough to tell people apart?

I have a 20 year old and a 12 year old goldfish. Both of them react differently when I walk up to the tank as opposed to when anybody else walks up to the tank. They know I am the guy who feeds them.

They barely wait for me to get their feeder back on it's hook before they are drinking from it.

They'll sit on my hand while drinking from the feeder and still chase off other hummingbirds ... it's pretty weird

When I put my open hand into the tank, he'd swim up to it, nestling himself into my palm, and I'd use my thumb to rub his belly. He'd stay there as long as I was willing to. Wouldn't do it with anyone else. It was quite amazing.
