The Curse of Oak Island and other History Channel

shows. Those guys on Oak Island have been digging for years now and they find a chunk of wood or something every year, give me a bresk. This morning I turn it on they are looking for Lost Gold from WWII somewhere, a major find a Korean coin from the 1970s. I don't think WWII was in the 1970s. Then there are The Ancient Alliens they think there is a secrect alien base in a mountain in Italy, we have airplanes today I would think someone would have seen the entrance by now. There is a huge hole in the ice in Antartica they have another base down there. Well Ancient Alien Theorist always say yes. I wish they would get back to f---g history instead of this crazy s--..

I don’t understand the draw after all these years. They have the same narrator as Aliens.

“Could it be?...”

“Is it possible?”

Perhaps it’s....?

“Or MAYBE...!”

If there was something up there, what with all of our modern technology, don't you think we would have found the damned thing by now?

Or would giving up looking for something that probably never existed mean the Trumpvangelicals would have to admit how much of their beliefs are fantasy that makes Tolkien's writing look like an IBM technical manual?

shop, I didn't see any of the (stars) around. Someone brings something in and they always have to call in an expert. Rick's laugh is iritating. Chumle seems to be the most intellengent of the bunch.

For no ' treasure ' . The Oak island thing is strange . They have talked about so many things that could be there and nothing substantial has been found. Same with the other shows. Huge waste of time and money. Bui I watch anyway.

rarely find the mother load nor baby load, but I do find pleasure watching The Curse of Oaks Island tho.

Same with paranormal shows, which I really do like

These shows are funny, maybe not realistic, but entertaining. They are an outlet from all the evils and bullshit, and non-caring reality that for now exist in this world.

Half the population, by definition, has below average intelligence. A significant chunk of the population suffers from mental illnesses that may make them susceptible to manipulation.

Basically, what capitalism allows one to do is to exploit those people mercilessly, and not only be rewarded for it, but be admired for it.

It seemed like a short run series as the one brother had a set amount he was willing to spend. The search continues because the show funds it. Slightly different than your take but yes that’s why they have viewers.

It is a fascinating story. Lots of people have take a shot at it. Including FDR.

I was into all that crap as a kid.

I just think we need to stop rewarding abject nonsense which is passed off as fact.

That being said, I am hooked on Curse of Oak Island.

Then it became the welding network.

National Geographic is now the “watch miserable people almost freeze to death channel” ...or its Discovery- they all blend together now.

I’m quite interested in Oak Island too but this show became its own funding source for the search now.

watching those guys make knife blades every week. I worked 40 years in a steel mill I certainly don't want to see
any damn hot metal. Maybe they could come up with a contest to see who can make grass grow the fastest. We
can just sit and watch grass grow for an hour for entertainment.

He is a highly skilled knife and sword maker. Much of his work features
his home made Damascus steel with beautiful patterns he learned how to do.
He was put up in a hotel in NYC for Forged in Fire (twice) and has gone to conventions
in Vermont and Argentina. Some of his knives are quite expensive, polished
mesquite burl handles and copper sheaths.
