Odd cat habits - what do yours do?

Our oldest cat, a 15 yr old ragdoll mix rescue, has 2 morning rituals. After his morning snack of wet food with his thyroid med mixed in it, he goes to the water dish in one corner of the kitchen, and, using one of his front paws, drags it out from the corner at least a foot before he will drink from it. Mind you, he does not go around the dish to the side that was against the wall. He drinks from the same side that he already had had access to without pulling it out of the corner. And its a big bowl, so his head/ears/whiskers would not be touching anything if he just left it where it was.

After that, he wants to go upstairs to drink out of one of the sinks in the master bathroom. Only my sink, which is the one on the right, will do. He won’t drink out of my husband’s sink, on the left side of the counter.

Gotta love cats and their weird ways.

which could, if you were concerned because he was not eating, lead to an x-ray.

250.00 to see a rubber band about to. Um. exit.

(we don't have any in the house anymore)

Not next to the sink or her lovely food buffet, only in the sink. She puts her front paws in the sink and her back paws stay on the counter top.

She's a quirky one.

when he wants to sit on my lap. The way my computer is set up, I lean forward to type so he comes up behind me. if I ignore him, he starts to shove me. He's 19 pounds of muscle, so I know I'm being shoved, lol. It's the weirdest thing I've ever had a cat do and I've lived with cats all of my life. He's a real character.

This is him:

It attracts me like a button waiting to be pushed. My Frosty has a pale pink nose outlined in black and he really enjoys having his cute little nose scratched.

...my cat drags dryer sheets into the box to make the task at hand a bit more bearable. One thing it has done is teach me to clean the box more often. As is often said, we don’t own cats, we’re just the staff.

If I'm sitting down and wearing shoes (a rarity these days since I'm now home all the time and partial to wearing socks), she'll come lay beside the shoes and attack them. She thumps them furiously with her back legs, then rolls over the top of them and then starts pulling on the laces. The same occurs even if I leave them lying around. It's curious to behold.

will not drink water from the water bowl, they drink from the bath tub faucet turned on to a thin dribble. The older female cat, is no relation to my younger cats, she primarily drinks from the water bowl. In fact some times she curls up next to the edge of it, wrapping herself around an arc of the bowls lip. They're full of picky, quirky habits. I love them though.

1. boops me on the nose every day
2. whenever I use the bathroom, it means a game of chase is about to begin. She waits until I flush, then she wants me to chase her. The moment I take a step towards her, she zooms off expecting me to chase her.
3. loves to chew on blankets. Like zen, focused, almost orgasmic blanket chewing. Did it since the day she came home from the shelter.

One of our senior cats is obsessed with ice water since we gave our crew ice water during a heat wave last summer. He’ll whine and cry until he gets ice and will then sit and poke at it and lick the water off his paw.

open his mouth as wide as possible and scoop up a huge mouthful. Then he walks across the kitchen and dumps his load on the floor. He lays down beside his hoard and slowly eats one piece of kibble at a time. When he's eaten the last piece he'll go get a second load, that's usually enough to fill him up.

She hibernates in the cooler months. Totally. Under layers of blankets and pillows on my bed. Only comes out to use the litter box and would prefer to eat in bed if I would cooperate with that.

As soon as daylight savings time hit, she was a totally different cat. She came out to show us that she had gained a good four pounds over the winter. She's up all day, playing. Chasing Matchbox cars down the hall. Throwing her mice around. Acting kitten-ish.

She stills sleeps right next to me at night. But not buried under my pillows.

I have had a lot of dear, dear cats. But never a seasonal one before. She was eight years old when we rescued her five years ago. Grey tabby.

If we didn't have 3 dogs, 2 big pits, she wouldn't get the opportunity. But I have to keep a giant bowl down for them. You can hear her when she gets in. It sounds like a kid doing a cannonball off the high dive.
You must hide the foil or anything wrapped in foil or in a foil container. Strangers in the house think she wants the food, but no, she will dump it out and carry off the container.
We removed all the spring type door stops the first month we had her. Her frequent concerts with the girl pitty on lead vocals were not well received.

off the cap of a bottle, elastics, anything he can figure out how to have fun with. He has been eyeing the pins in my pin cushion so i was hiding it. I went to the kitchen to make dinner and found a whole bunch of pins on the floor. I'm grateful he did not stab himself or swallow one and hope that the novelty has worn off. Anyhow, anything is a toy if it is new. The garbage is his toy box needless to say.

A few times he pushed it behind a door so of course it would spill all over the place. I even caught him trying to tip it over. I bought second hand casserole dishes until I found one heavy enough to put the water dish in so he couldn't push it around. I won!!

It doesn't matter if we eat at 5:00 or 8:00, she will hold it until we all sit down. About the time we pick up our forks the scratching starts and lasts for several minutes. Unfortunately, her kitty box is on the main floor bathroom close to our dining area. Yes, I've tried moving it and she let me know very directly she did not like that. Sigh.

She'll drink out of a bowl I put in the bathtub if she has to but she has us trained by leading us into the bathroom. Or if we're already using it she'll push the door open and jump up on the tub edge and wait for the faucet to be turned on. Wish the cat would get a clue but it's the only time she seems to want attention.

to let me know that he would like me to go into the kitchen and get him some kitty treats. He also will not go to sleep on the bed with me until I pet him, tell him he's a good cat and it's time to go to bed. He will pester me until I do that, but once he gets reminded that I love him and it's OK to settle down, he will do just that - curl up behind my knees and go to sleep.

My old guy is almost 17 but he can still jump onto the kitchen counter, which he often does, and when I start to grab him to get him down he tries to hide behind the toaster.

The third cat is kind of short-tempered and hissy. She doesn't like being followed and will turn around and hiss at me if I do that. If she gets really pissed off she goes after my feet - she doesn't scratch; she stabs. Then she forgets why she was mad at me.
