Being the parents of devoted soccer playing sons from the time each was 5 (now 30 and 27 - when did THAT happen?), my husband and I spent years on the sidelines of park district, travel, high school and college soccer, and ended up as fairly devoted followers of English Premier Leagues soccer. We watch the games every weekend morning.
NBCSN is rebroadcasting matches from many past seasons, and we are watching them.
It feels normal to have the sounds of a soccer game on the airwaves, and I always enjoy the variety of British accents amongst the commentators. And, an well placed goal or deft save is still exciting, even in replay.
Go ahead and call us pathetic-

(23,322 posts)Were a baseball family and I am missing it so much! Watching or listening to my Cubs from opening day to the fall is part of life in this house. My kiddo plays travel ball and damn...not having his games to look forward to every weekend is killing me. Going to have to figure out how to get my baseball tan some other way.
