The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsVery reluctantly, I must give kudos to Scott toilet paper.
My wife has long insisted on buying it.
Myself, I'm not a fan. It's thin and as far as toilet paper goes, not very comfortable. I'd love to use the quilted double ply stuff if I had the option.
But I will say this: that stuff lasts forever. Like three times as long as other brands. It's single ply and tightly wound, so you do get a lot for your buck.
And in a house of four, we have about a 12 pack left, so we should be okay for about a month and a half.

(13,526 posts)Even when I used to have money, I still only bought Scott!! Spending big $$ on that fluffy frou-frou tp is...well, you may as well flush it down the terlit!!

(102,336 posts)I am glad I scored Sam's Club Member's Mark bulk pack of TP, though. It is the soft kind and cheap enough that it isn't so bad if we are tempted to use more and it can double as facial tissue.
That said, Scotts was the only one that my Mom would buy.

(30,755 posts)I like the way it lasts. And we don't need that other stuff clogging up our septic tank. We live in the country.
I noticed in the store that the other stuff is sold out. There were still a few rolls of Scott. I don't need any. I have seven rolls downstairs, and one extra in the upstairs bathroom.
We bought two weeks worth of food. We are not hoarding.

(23,727 posts)As with most companies, trying to get as much out of the customer as they can, (speaking of which reducing most canned goods from 16 oz to 13.5-14.5 ozs), Scott has ruined their TP. A few years ago it became so thin and coarse I couldn't use it anymore. It was like the tissue paper you use in presents. Very irritating. Now use Charmin. May have to buy more often, but at least I don't have a sore ass, so it's worth it.

(63,221 posts)I kind of resent having to buy TP with fewer sheets, but that was all they had today at Wegmans so I gave in. I get so annoyed when the roll runs out so quickly as opposed to Scott. Why can't other brands make a 1000 sheet roll?

(38,007 posts)The store-brand clones are a few pennies less, but if that's not in stock, Scott is fine.
My mom always used it too.
