I always get over-excited when they go on sale, buy a BUNCH and 3/4 of them go to waste.

Learn to tie the stems in a knot with your tongue and you'll never lack for cherries again.

Our cherry tree recovered from being sideways and not only blossomed but it is producing a shitload of cherries. They're sort of a tart black cherry (not bing), but I'm amazed it lived. You have to wait until they fall (which they do when they're ripe) and try to get to them before the robins or catbirds. I love them.

I eat a handful or two and tire of them quickly. Not THIS year... is my pledge.

Freshman year of college, my first in DC, I had the worst hives, swelling and congestion all March. I went with friends to the Cherry Blossom Festival and within 10 minutes I was in an ambulance to the GW Med. Center. Anaphylaxis to the pollen. I'd eaten them just fine my entire life; now I can't come within 1-mile of a flowering cherry tree.
