This virus is like a tornado watch/warning for me.

I know it's coming and if it hits me it will be catastrophic. I'm just watching and waiting and hoping it will pass me by. In the meantime, I'm making all prudent preparations that I can. I'm going to be talking with my son this morning about his and my granddaughter's weekly visits. I'm thinking that we should suspend those for a while, until we see what happens with the local school system. My son and I can keep our "social distance" but it's hard for a 6 year old.

I watch President Pandemic with the same disgusted fascination that I did 6 months ago...like watching a train wreck...except now I'm either on the train or trying to cross the tracks...I'm not just a spectator anymore.

i just had a visit from my sister from Manhattan; I'm in a so-far safe part of Florida.
Going to see the doctor today for a persistent, but mild, sore throat that has not gone away for a week. I'm a recovered cancer patient, and I'm close to 70, with mild COPD and I had pneumonia last year, so I have to be as careful as I can be.
Hubby and I have been stocking up on food and household supplies (being in hurricane country, we know the drill) so as to minimize contact and not get screwed over by supply-chain issues.
I'll get to the library for reading material one more time, and then hopefully we can just nest here. I hope the granddaughter understands.

For me it has been like the slowly increasing winds before the hurricane gets here. I have done my hurricane preps a little early this year and am watching the news like I watch the weather reports. I am not afraid, but I am curious if this will be what gets me.
