The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI pulled on my wellies and did a tour of the 'estate'. My Maple Tree is in bud!!!
Daffodils greens are about 6" tall, one already in bud, and the crocus are starting to peek up through the soil. I think this is the earliest seasonal 'awakening' I've seen, in quite a while.
All in all, I'm feeling some really positive energy, today!

(26,263 posts)I remember one year when I had Daffs blooming quite early in March, but that was a long, long time ago.

(3,276 posts)near the SC border, and our daffodils are already past their prime. We've got forsythia starting to bloom, a few violets and field pansies and bluets blooming in the grass, and the Bradford pear tree in my yard has started to bloom as well. This is a little early for us, but not alarmingly so.

(26,263 posts)I've had years, like 2019, when I couldn't safely mow until almost the end of May. This year the ground is already well into a thaw so HOPEFULLY it won't be a bad problem, this year.
