Question for mostly women, but if the guys here use a curling iron I'll surely listen.....

Do I ALWAYS have to use some type of hair protective spray every time I use a curling iron?? I know my hair has to be totally dry, but do I always have to use a protective spray as well??? Thanks.

keep the hair healthy..... So of course I bought it, and have been using it, but my hair sure doesn’t look like it did when my beautician did it. Boy do I need experience using a curling iron.

but when I did, it felt like a film on my hair. So, I stopped using the spray. I did, however, condition my hair deeply when I used the curling iron. I've since cut my hair off, so now I no longer use one. Most liberating thing I've ever done with my hair!

10. It's better for your hair if you do, but you don't have to.

I flat iron my hair almost everyday, so of course I do, but if you're just doing it occasionally you should be fine, unless your hair is particularly brittle, damaged or fragile.

of a protective spray....but, conditioning is a good idea. I put styling gel in my wet hair, blow dry it then curl. Just keep feeling the outer layer of hair and when it’s warm, take out the iron. Usually about 30 seconds. I’ve never burned my hair off! Do let the curl cool before brushing or combing it, or you’ll lose the curl. The clip kind is a bit friendlier than the brush kind. Come to think of it I did fry my hair once with the brush kind, they get SOOOOO hot.
