I miss both Michael Jeter and Michael Clarke Duncan (even if he was married to Omarosa) and it’s one of Tom Hanks’ best underrated roles.

“He kills them with they love” haunts me in this mad age.

Every month or so another 75 pages or so.

The Green Mile is one of the best film adaptations of a Stephen King work.

My other two favorites are The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me

I remember being so anxious for the next issue.

All the roles were perfectly cast in the movie.

Even the minor ones.

There was much love that went into the making of that movie.

I absolutely refused to crack the cover on the first one until I had all of them! Damn, that was hard!

Oh, to have the pleasure of the first time seeing that movie again...

I often get that shriveled up face look that people get when they disapprove. How can a "horror" author be my favorite.

I have to point out to them that he is responsible for some of the most beloved movies of all time... Shawshank Redemtion, Stand by Me, Green Mile. It isn't an accident. He is just a great story teller.

even if you aren’t a writer. It combines craft with his own life and work, and is a great, great read. Honestly, he’s a fine literary writer in a genre that has the ability to be metaphorical and political in the right hands.

I think I've read all of his books. Some of the movies weren't true to the books (I read that he didn't like what was done to The Shining), but the three you mention were excellent. Carrie - the book, not the movie - scared the bejeebers out of me. I think it was much more effective than the movie.

I'm always surprised at how good King's writing is, expecting it to be only so so for some reason.

Excellent book.

Tom Hanks and the rest of the movie cast were just awesome. One of the first movies I saw Sam Rockwell in, and been impressed with every role since.
