Thin Buddhas, chubby Buddhas, bald Buddhas, hairy Buddhas, All kinds of Buddhas

The Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery was founded in 1951 by Yuet Kai, a monk who preached Buddhism in a local monastery. Construction of the monastery began in 1949. Despite his old age, Yuet Kai carried the buildings materials personally from the foot of the mountain together with his disciples to build the monastery. It took eight years to complete all the buildings and another ten years to finish the 12,800 Buddha statues. Today, his preserved body is presented in the main hall of the monastery in a glass case, often the main attraction of the temple.

Pictures of many more Buddhas -sort of took me aback, I foolish thought there was only one "Buddha" and some history:

Thanks!

Shakyamuni was THE Buddha for the age. There were manifest Buddha's with all the fine qualities before him and they will continue to emerge in ages to come. The next Buddha is said to be Maitreya. Now that we are in the Dharma Ending Age or Mappo, who knows how long, in ordinary time, it will be before that. Meanwhile, waking up is still on the menu.

However, buddha nature is at the core of all sentient beings and that is actually the essence of the teachings. Since essential Dharma is not ultimately about getting something somewhere, it utilizes skillful means and Wisdom as the method of realizing that and recognizing one's true nature and the way things actually are.

In the nine levels stacked below Samantabhadra, there are, of course, three main vehicles and 84,000 ways, (Buddhism has a customization feature that usually emerges beyond the scriptures in the teacher/student dialog and the sutras/scriptures are a door and an invitation to that). Samantanhadra is the primordial Buddha, the mirror of the mind, not a personalized deity. He doesn't exist.

So, you are a buddha. Everyone reading this is a buddha. The thing is, you may be still be sleeping and this dream can be distracting and very captivating even thought Awakened Mind is already evident and contains it, just like ordinary sleep is the container for dreams and they do not stray from it.

So, in essence finding out what you really are is the pointless point of the essential meaning.

Thanks for the article!

And how can you be two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?

More sugar and shoes for industry!

Whenever I throw one of those references out, I always wonder if somebody is going to catch it.
