the dog's vet and one from the insurance company. You reap what you sow! We don't send out more than ten ourselves.

Some people never send cards. Some always do. I send out homemade cards with a greeting handwritten. I don't expect handmade cards, but I think there should at least be a personal touch of person's handwriting.

on the OTHER hand .. you might take the view that these individuals DID take note and remembered you (and invested a small amount of themselves, time and money). It almost certainly wasn't intended as a slap at you .. and they probably perceive this as a kind and thoughtful gesture. And, by comparison, there are virtually legions of folks that do nothing. So ...

(All of which you probably already realize .. but let's try not to judge too harshly. My lack of appreciation somewhat mirrors your own, but ... Changing times?)

I usually don't ever post in the lounge or anywhere or even mention it to anyone. But for some reason, today I did.

It somehow feels like the business model of relating to people has taken over too much.

And not taking you to task. It is disappointing. But .. keep your chin up.
(and as the kids say, "you do you .." And realize the value of that.)

I just don't get it.

I don't even mind the custom printed ones with pictures and family updates but I think they should at least be signed (and a personal message is an added bonus).

When I get one that's pre-printed, with return address printed, no signature, and a computer address label, I think they are just sending out of obligation. Would not hurt my feelings if they took me off their to-do list.

Had about 40 on my list. Might have gotten 10 in return.

I always hand write a note on the card.

I think I won't bother doing them again. End of an era.
