to trust humans, is genuinely humbling.

Over and over again they do so, and we hardly deserve it.

If I were a better science fiction writer, I'd write a novel, or maybe even a whole series about how cats and dogs are the true rulers of the Universe, and they are here to try to bring us up to their level.
