9. In the movie Valdez Is Coming, one of the characters asks the protagonist (played by Burt

Lancaster) how he achieved his skill at shooting. Lancaster replies that he used to hunt Apache and says "but that was before". To the question that was then made (before what?) Lancaster replies "Before I knew better." That resounded for me in many ways.
