Drivers were surprised to see a moose casually strolling across an intersection in Anchorage, Alaska

and (wisely) stopped to let it go on its way. Gee, I get a thrill out of geese stopping traffic to waddle across major streets. Gotta stop and enjoy the "journey!"

I know it isn't unusual to see them in yards or residential steets, but downtown is pretty amazing. hlthe2b Dec 2019 #2

My nephew, who has lived nearly his entire life in Anchorage, said it's acceptable to be late to work because "there was a moose in my yard." You don't mess with them - they can attack if disturbed. A man was killed in downtown Anchorage when he walked out of a building and into the path of a wandering moose.

Massive animal though-- but I'd not cross a bull elk or a buck deer either.

My sister came home from work one evening and found a moose lounging in her front yard. She decided to go out to supper to avoid an encounter. Moose are unpredictable!

and it has moose crossing signs on the highway. While I was there a motorcycle had an encounter with a moose with deadly consequences.

He was killed in a one truck roll-over on a dirt road. My friend got
a Moose Crossing sign and put it up on the crash site. It's been there for years.

for a Christmas eve drink.

Is 4th Street still the crazy place it was in the 70s?
