This is Zeus. He was stolen from his home in Montana a few months ago. Last week he was found over 2,000 miles away in West Virginia. Since many airlines ban pitbulls, a relay team of 30 volunteers drove him all the way home in time for Christmas. 15/10 for everyone involved

the drive/rest time for them in shifts. If they were starting from WV and driving to Butte, MT it would take a good 30-ish hours and that's good timing considering the dog would need potty and run breaks.

Chelsea Staley with the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association told WOWK TV : “It seems Cassandra who is a single mom in Butte, Montana allowed a family friend to come stay with her for a bit. The ‘friend’ basically robbed her blind stole her wallet, a number of things while she was at work including her dog Zeus. The friend was apprehended in Nitro, and when he was arrested Zeus was still with him."

Some more info/pics from another link:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) – The story began two months ago when Zeus was stolen from his family in Butte by a supposed friend.

“Basically robbed her blind stole her wallet, a number of things while she was at work including her dog Zeus…the friend was apprehended in Nitro… and when he was arrested Zeus was still with him,” Chelsea Staley, executive director of Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, told WOWK 13 News earlier this month.

That’s how Zeus ended up in West Virginia at the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association. A microchip connected him to a family two-thousand miles away.

Since Pitbulls can’t fly commercial airlines, the group Many Paws Volunteer Transport set up a relay of volunteer drivers to get Zeus home for Christmas. Last Tuesday they left for their journey.

But at least the dank bastid will spend Christmas in stir.

(And Zeus probably would only have gotten sick if he'd eaten him or her.)

Maybe to sell for dog fighting?

Bless all the people who made sure Zeus got home safely.
Just goes to show that most of us are good-hearted.

Pits are not vicious by birth anymore than say, Dobermans, Rottweilers or any other dog. This kind of stupid only plays into false stereotyping and victimizes this breed.

Unless there is rock solid, SCIENTIFIC evidence to ban this breed (which FYI - doesn't exist, I checked), this kind of arbitrary nonsense should cease immediately.

I volunteered at the local humane shelter for a while. Pitties get a bad rap. If they are raised properly, they are not killers. They are the loving, family pets this dog appears to be. Just look at how adorable he is with the volunteers driving him home. Such love.
