The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsDue to the severe weather warning I took all of the recommended items with me including:
Shovel
Blankets
Extra clothing including hat and gloves
24 hours worth of food
De-Icer
Rock Salt
Tire Chains
Flashlight with spare batteries
Road Flares
Full gas can
First Aid Kit
Jumper cables
To be honest, I felt like a total idiot lugging all that stuff on the crosstown bus this morning!

(8,445 posts)I grew up in North Dakota, so I always have that stuff in my van if I am driving out of town in the winter. Well, not the tire chains, just because I don't have them and would be too much of a wimp to get out in the cold and put them on.
Usually I just opt to stay home if the weather isn't pretty much ideal.
