(5 posts)And great film.
But my choice is Cruella Deville from 101 Dalmations.
Hell, the name says it all, and she wanted to skin puppies.

**SPOILER**
I love when at the end the brothers stage a ritual cremation and they need a dog to place at the foot of the hero. They use the body of the rabid, mad dog Markov.
Yes, one of the all-time great villians.

(20,166 posts)Scared me when I was a kid.
Even now as I watch reruns of Dark Shadows, the character can still creep me out (despite his occasional flubbed lines and hammy performances).

(6,996 posts)Lionel Barrymore could be convincing as a lovable Grandpa or Dr. Kildare's curmudgeonly boss or a nasty hated villain.

(4,056 posts)The Telltale Heart and especially The Black Cat. The latter being the scariest thing I'd ever read at aged 11. And the fact that the nameless sociopath was narrating the story, acting like the victim was even creepier. I slept under the bed for weeks!
Horror films, later books--yeah, they can be scary, but NOTHING beats an opium-crazed Victorian writer who'd never seen images on a screen for evoking pure fear!

Allmost 40 years ago, I walked out of the theater stunned by this one person and her evil. What a terrrific character and what she
did ..If you don't know, you gotta see this. It is truly a great film.

The blatant Disney propaganda trying to sugarcoat that near-disaster is sickening stuff.
Was later seen in the company of a certain Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin, and was reportedly employed as nanny to the Romanov children at the Winter Palace from 1915-17.
