(11,631 posts)My wife and I just started making them this year using the wax left over from the cell caps when we extracted our hives. Still trying to get the mixture right of beeswax to coconut oil... some have cracked in the jar when they dry but I think they will still be ok.

(11,631 posts)The recipes say like 1 lb beeswax to 1/2 cup coconut oil which is supposed to slow the burn and keep it from tunneling. But that is for folks buying cleaned wax. We have wax in different stages of clean since it came from the beehives unprocessed so it seems to vary based on how old it is...

it used to be bread for me until we went Keto (miss the smell of fresh sour dough bread out of the oven)

I didn't go Keto, but since I cut carbs, sometimes I have fewer than my limit. All good!
