I am reminded tonight that I am guilty of a ‘sin of omission’, because I have failed to thank you for your many posts that lift my spirits and renew my faith in my fellow man.

When it comes to saving, protecting, and opening our hearts to animals, we are at our best as people – and our political differences fade away in the light of our shared compassion for these voiceless beings among us.

I always look for your posts on nights when I am feeling low, feeling frustrated – feeling hopeless about the state of our country. And of late, I have more nights like that than I’d dare admit.

But a few minutes watching an ‘unadoptable’ pittie finding his forever home, or an ‘ugly mutt’ being spoiled rotten by a family that thinks he’s the most beautiful pet ever, is enough to give me hope that we can overcome what divides us.

Thanks again for all you do – it is more important than you realize.
