I'm exhausted, stressed tight as a drum...

I'm taking tomorrow off after I run client errands. I let everyone know I'm only doing Christmas card design tomorrow and won't be even answering my phone after 10am, but already feel guilty about it. I saw my counselor today and cried the entire hour. I wish I could just shut my door, lay in bed with my kitties, and listen to good murder mysteries for a week.

Sometimes it takes a totally cut off day to be able to relax. Indulge yourself.

The stress and anxiety of my everyday life the last few years has taken its toll. Add on the concern for our country due to the regime of the orange one and Republican enablers, and some days all I want to do is stay in bed and read. If I didn't have my dog, Snowy, depending on me, I might just crawl under the covers and stay there.

Do what you need to take care of yourself. The world will go on whether you take a day--or a week--off to recharge your batteries.

and it sure sounds like it's affecting your mental health. All the best to you over the holiday season. I hope you find a way to reduce the stress in your life in the new year.

something hit me on the head. Felt like a rock! Definitely more than an acorn. Shit, shit, shit.

Fortunately I was only across the street from my building and came up to immediately put ice on it and take some Tylenol for inflammation. No bump. But it was the last straw and I had a good cry.

Four loads of laundry to do this morning and then I have a ticket to a noon performance of The Messiah at our Performing Arts Center. I walk there. Will pick up holiday stamps at the post office on the way back--and a book on hold at the little branch library--to get my cards out tomorrow and do nothing else but read.

Sunday I will go see a performance of Ragtime with my best friend in Chapel Hill.

Hope no more ? rocks? land on my head!
