True Blood in just 4 days - I think I know who turned Rev Steve Newlin *** Spoilers ***

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/s59/true-blood/news/a385613/true-blood-denis-ohare-teases-new-russell-romance.html

True Blood star Denis O'Hare has teased that Russell Edgington will find love with a pre-existing character in season five.

The actor revealed that the former vampire king of Mississippi will strike up a relationship with one of his "many fans" when he returns to the HBO series.

"He's taller than I am, but he's not as good a dresser," O'Hare hinted to TV Guide. "On hair terms, we're on par, neck and neck because I wear a wig, of course, but his hair is pretty rockin'. I think I still win on the hair thing.

I am thinking that it's Russell Edgington who turned Steve Newlin. The big 'if' factor is this - how long was Russell released from his cement grave because he would need enough time to turn Newlin and then train him on how to glamour someone (it's not something vampires are born with but are taught but that would take another day).

I always thought that Steve Newlin was a homosexual (or at least bisexual since he was married to a woman for awhile but then again he was a reverand, probably was repressing it) and would the combination of Russell Edgington and Steve Newlin make a great couple and absolutely hilarious pairing.

Plus, according to the article, Steve Newlin fits some of the other comments that Denis O'Hare (plays Edgington) said:

  • First Steve is a man and although most vampires tend to be bisexual in nature (they seem to fuck anything), Edgington seems like he's set on men.
  • Steve Newlin does have a full head of hair - pretty filled out.
  • Newlin is a decent height although if I recall Edgington was about 5'7 or 5'8.
  • Finally, doesn't it make sense after that comment they showed Steve Newlin making in one of the season #5 promos. They show Jessica and Steve fighting (my assumption is she felt Jason's fear and last we saw Steve he was ready to bite into Jason) and when Jessica said "The King is my Daddy" Newlin replied something along the lines like "I don't acknowledge the king". My guess is this - if Newlin is the protegee of someone like Russell Edgington, Newlin would definately have Edgington's disrespect for anything like the Authority or leaders in the Vampire community.

OMG if it is Russell and Steve as the new vampire power couple- I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS!!!!

I think it would be somewhat of a continuity error since it seems like Russell was only freed in the past day or two (assuming it is still the same night that Jason got taken for a ride by Little Red Riding Hood). Newlin disappeared at least 6-8 months prior. I suspect that Newlin is the one that freed Russell, but not that he is necessarily his sire. I am guessing Steve was turned by vampire's loyal to russell and he was looking for information on Russell. Maybe from Pam, or some other source. Pam is in a desperate state after getting abandoned by Eric. I think Pam is going to have a heck of a season.

I think Pam is going to turn Tara vampire to save her.

Yes to No more hillbilly were panthers and yes to less Terry and Arlene ( and evil bebe) Although I thought I saw something on one of the trailers about Terry gaining some power finally or something..but maybe I dreamed it.

Am I right that Jason did NOT invite Russell in at the end of last season? Has Jason been glamoured before? Or does his faery blood protect him too? *frets*
