WTF to do? She WON'T go home.

A neighbor dropped in about 2 hours ago.
Not a close friend, just someone we know who lives nearby.
We were having drinks and offered her a glass of wine.

I chatted with her and Miz t. for a bit and then came back to the computer.
She's still here.
It's 7:30 and I'm HUNGRY!

THANK GOD!
JUST HEARD THE FRONT DOOR CLOSE.

Damn.
She even said "I haven't had dinner yet."
Hey lady, NEITHER HAVE WE!

Jeez.
Don't you know when it's times to LEAVE?

That's not a good way to go about getting one...

Is she lonely?

She came to return a leftover flooring tile we had that Miz t. gave her to see if it would go with her 'decor'.

Well, she decided it didn't.
OK.
BFD.

Lonely?
Her husband died last year.
He was a jerk, and although she nursed him through his final illness (non-Hodgkins lymphona) I think she was glad to be rid of the bastard.
The rest of us were.
He was a real prick.

Now she's dating a guy and is 'expecting' that he'll ask her to marry him soon.
He's OK, and more power to her.
That's what most of the over two hour conversation was about.

or calls me up and won't get off the phone.

I make up a vet appointment I have to attend to, or I have to leave and go get someone or something, or a horse is loose and I've got to get off the phone that moment to catch them.

Especially if they didn't call before they came over and just dropped in - I can be a bit of a curmudgeon and need some gearing up for extended social get-togethers.

neighbors that will. not. leave.

The only saving grace - and it's a big one - is that she'll let me slide out and DU what I want back in my lair. No calling me back with "Oh, you've got to hear this!" or "Come look at these pictures!" Sounds like you're similarly blessed...

I wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and there are people I don't know sleeping on our sofa.

But it's not half as bad as my childhood home where you had to fight strangers for the bathroom, some of them space aliens splashing about in the tub.

Imagine these two:

"You go ahead and use the toilet dear, we'll keep the shower curtain closed..."

Feral child Hunter thinks: Oh, hell no, I'll just go piss in the yard like the dogs.
