Buying meat at Costco

I've just joined Costco and wanted to know what experience anyone has had buying meat at Costco. Was it good or bad? How did it compare with meat from other grocers? Better? Worse? The Same?

Thanks for the feedback.

2. I always see people buying up the meat products like it's a clearance sale.

The selection always looks like the meat is high quality for a low price. Disclosure: I'm not a meat eater.

The prices certainly are cheaper. I'll buy a whole boneless pork loin and slice it myself, then package it and freeze it. Their steaks are pretty thick, those can easily be cut in half for two portions.

5. Only purchased ground beef. The quantity requires you to cook it all but it freezes well for chili

and meat sauces. Quality was good (very lean) and you couldn't beat the price. Given I eat very little red meat, I think itis my "go to"...

They have a pre-cooked turkey breast sans any nitrates or other fillers that I buy regularly. Very good quality and only $3.99/pound.

Perfect size for most recipes. It only takes 30 minutes to thaw in a pan of warm water. The fat content is WAY lower than it says on the package.

some of the best. Personally,I would put Costco a cut above all the Major Super markets. Note, they use top choice and also offer Prime.

When we had two teenagers at home, we would buy a half-beef. Now we can't eat that mush, so we buy most of our meat at Costco. The one exception is pork butts- theirs are too well trimmed, and makes poor pulled pork because of that. We buy those at the local restaurant supply store.

stir it up with Ro-Tel, chicken broth, rinsed and drained black beans ; add some spices if you need them then when it has almost come to a boil throw in about a cup of frozen corn.

Awesome quick soup with 0 WW points

they have organic and regular
2 to a blister pack, thick enough to slice across into fillets
They are sealed in, and you cut the packs apart before freezing

Handiest thing ever.

Caught a great buy on pork tenderloin the other week.

Very good quality meats.

PSA Costco roasted chickens can not be beat.
