But here is the recipe for the flour tortillas:
http://www.texasrollingpins.com/tortillarecipe.html
I use five tablespoons of shortening.
Six tablespoons will make them too flaky, four will make them too rubbery.
Make sure to wait between tortillas, to make the pan nice and hot. Critical to making the tortillas puff up...

(60,018 posts)all sorts of lettuce from the garden, pears, sweet peppers, toasted walnuts, strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, our own radishes, sliced honey smoked turkey, grated cheddar, craisins, EVOO and a squeeze of lemon.
Sadly our lettuce is starting to bolt badly, so only a few weeks more at the most...we always miss lettuce when it is finished.

actually it was pretty good, I used store-bought broth (safeway brand organic buy 2 get 1 free) since I knew I wasn't going to feel like doing it 100% right. threw in some carrot chunks, lots of parsely, celery and some slicked zucchini. Also made a salad. Tried making ranch dressing with yogurt instead of buttermilk. Not too bad but not as good as regular.
