In a very large thread about Halloween candy, member Wednesdays posted that eating candy corn at the same time as peanuts resulted in the taste of a Payday candy bar. After non-extensive research, I can confirm this scientific fact. I bought a small bag of candy corn (and not the good kind) and tried it and it was amazing. I can't wait to try it with the good stuff (the kind made with real honey.) Not sure whether to thank or condemn Wednesdays for posting about it but I felt an obligation to report back.

I'm the only person in my house who eats candy corn. Peanuts are a staple around here. This twist somehow raises the legitimacy of having candy corn around.

(15,384 posts)That the worst Halloween candy can be made slightly more palatable by combining it with peanuts to taste like a subpar candy bar.
J/K. Don't attack me... I actually do like Paydays.
But still... REESES!!!

(38,436 posts)now here is something that you never heard before about candy corn and eating it.
I have been eating bags of candy corn for over 60 years. 60 years...YES
.... Originally there were 10 cent bags with about 4 oz and I bought a bag on the way to grammar school. The bags were made in Chicago where Brachs candy had a factory..(no more, Brachs now makes it in Mexico..) I bought the bag from the company that makes it in Indiana..(forgot the name)...oh well...there is more left at the food store. After all, October is candy corn month...
