I chose sleep, and slept.
Then woke and had coffee.
Today seems like a pretty good day.

(16,334 posts)when napping...Sometimes I can fall asleep immediately but sometimes just a quick resting will work wonders. I do think it clears the brain somehow.

(25,879 posts)The vast majority of people don't get enough sleep and haven't a clue why that's so bad.
I honestly think that an important reason I'm the healthiest person I know is that most of my life (I'm now 71) I've gotten plenty of sleep. Not always. But mostly.
It is a particular joy to me that I no longer get up to an alarm (save rare occasions) and I get to sleep as long as I want. I rarely am out of bed before 9am, and I don't willingly schedule any appointments before noon. I have a good life.

(16,334 posts)there are times when I REALLY want to sleep but I have too much to do and my brain won't rest anyway. Sometimes I am able to rest for a few minutes and then have coffee...which can get me through the fog.
