Twentysomething Luke raped teenager Laura, but eventually she fell in love with him and they had the wedding of the decade! So true to life!!!!

I was raised in a matriarchal household and taught to treat women with respect and reverence.

Then, as an adult, this Luke rapes Laura but it's OK because she secretly "wanted it" "romance" was embraced by every woman I know as a "love story". I got into many discussions where I was appalled by the rape, while women in my life were swooning over it.

Didn't understand it then. Don't understand it now.

And don't get me started on "Grease". Or "Twilight". Or "Fifty Shades".
