Just tried to talk to MFM, was telling him I might have to hang up fast if the guy from Verizon calls (yeah right like THAT is really going to happen) and he was telling me he might have to do the same if the Doctor came in as expected.
Of course the Doctor came in so I will try back in a little while. He was saying they will probably release him "this weekend" although the ins. co. wants to do it sooner. Not sure what all that means.
He was clowning around in the 2 minutes we talked so I am passing that along now.
More later.

(3,836 posts)I hope he is out of there soon, but not before he is ready. Sounds like the ins. co. is doing what they do best which is to make sure their clients are less important than the money they can make.
Good vibes, Light and Love to MFM!! And to you and CaliforniaPeggy as well for being such good friends to MFM and to all of us!

(82,849 posts)Quick, everybody get busy cleaning up! It's been a helluva party, but if MFM is coming back home soon, we need to get this place back in order. Now, who brought the kangaroo (lookin' at YOU Ohiosmith)?

(55,026 posts)they may keep him until Monday but it seems to be to make sure his blood thinner levels get back to normal. They take him off or switch things around when he is in there, plus the UTI may have affected balances - anyway he is gradually going back up to his normal levels and that is what they are watching.
He was complaining that the staff must be bogarting the twilight sleep stuff they used on him for his deep-throat party yesterday as he really enjoyed that experience especially coming to. (and who hasn't, I mean - really? )
He's going to be OK.
Sounds like he's keeping the staff entertained. LMAO!
Thanks for the update. I hate that they're going to keep him in longer, but better safe than sorry.

(2,441 posts)I think it's good that they're being so careful with his levels. It sucks being in the hospital, but he deserves the best.

(55,026 posts)MFM is doing fine, had a nice chat a little while ago - blood chemicals moving up slow so he is thinking it MAY mean as long as Wednesday, and he is complaining a little about the bland saltless diet - not even allowed the tiniest bit of cheese. I told him he is pretty good at making his own, ha ha.
The Husband and I came pretty close to meeting up with him at UMC last night. Husband was having upper abdominal pain most of the day and when he started vomiting too with nothing traveling the other direction we started worrying about a possible obstruction (he had a partial colectomy a year and a half ago) or some other serious-ish problem so I took him down to the local ER around 7 PM. They ran some inconclusive tests and doped him up good. It all took most of the night. I got to experience the most uncomfortable chair ever manufactured for a good part of that (had to go take a half hour nap in the truck because my ass just couldn't handle it anymore)
There was discussion about transporting him to UMC for emergency surgery at one point. I kept thinking that was a hell of way to go visit MFM. Things settled down (ahhh morphine) so we will follow up with his regular doc and see if he can figure it out. Might be gall bladder. Guy seems to be all full of rocks - CT showed chunks in gall bladder and in both kidneys, but none seemed to actually be blocking anything. Pretty funny for a stone mason, eh?
Got home about 4:30 this morning. I had a good nap earlier, but am still behind in the zzzzzs so I will say hasta manana.

I need to call MFM, but I wasn't feeling well today; my back has been hurting pretty badly.
Glad he's feeling well! I'm glad the doctors are being cautious about discharging him too soon this time.
Have a great sleep!

(55,026 posts)god I'm tired, I though it was Tuesday...
Talked to MFM for a little while tonight. Blood numbers coming up slowly, everything else good - he said he even strolled around the ward a couple times today and had no problems breathing. He is viewing this as a good tune-up to the heart stuff. He was worried about COPD (is that the right acronym?) but it seems to have been the chronic heart failure and that was helped with the UTI getting cleared up and some med adjustments. Now waiting on the blood thinner level to climb to where they can let him out.
I think he's getting a little bored but in good humor. Some butt jokes, bathroom humor and of course his appreciation of nurses who come to his room and ask if they can look at him.
I think he is having entirely too much fun in there.

(149,741 posts)I was going to call him tonight, but I forgot! I think that damn thread in Meta has me preoccupied!
BTW, thank you for taking the heat for me in there...
I'm glad to hear he's feeling really good, walking around and everything. I think he really will be ready to go home when they finally release him.
I hope he's having too much fun!

(55,026 posts)in fact he said he hadn't heard from you in a while - and I am seeing by this thread that I didn't call yesterday...or didn't update or something. I swear I am loosing my mind in the heat...
