I remember after I saw that film for the first time as a child on television, a group of us were talking about it at school and one of the kids said her parents told her that Judy Garland died of a drug overdose. I was so horrified, as I thought it was Judy, the young girl who had overdosed. I didn't realize how old the movie was and that she was a middle aged woman when she had accidentally od'd on barbituates.

I don't know why that stuck with me so much, I guess it was the first time I had ever heard of anyone famous, especially a woman, dying from a drug overdose. It just really shook me at the time.
