Oops - true story

Around 2004, I was driving through rural Mississippi enroute to Florida. It was beautiful country I'd never seen before.
I got thirsty and decided to pull over at an old country store. The cashier behind the counter looked like granny from The Beverly Hillbillies.

I got a quart of cold milk and went up to pay. She looked at the milk and then looked at me and said “Got gas”? I said ‘No’.
She said it again, a little louder. “Got gas?”

I said, jokingly “I haven't had gas in months.”

A customer waiting behind me said “She wants to know if you put gas in your car from the pumps out front.”

oops!

church is in the downtown core of ottawa. We parked often at the Supreme Court to walk to church. My sister said "that is strange. There is a sign that says 'Presbyterians please use other side of the street'"

Of course she misread pedestrians.
