Holy Cow. Go see it.

We just got back from that new Cameron Crowe movie about David Crosby -"Remember my Name". Don't know where to start. I was a Byrds fan in the 60's so kind of always paid attention to them and CSN(Y), etc. It's at once sobering, funny, sad, poignant and enlightening while allowing another perspective on that whole California music scene from back then. Crosby comes across as very bright, focused, somewhat regretful, a guy with convictions and of course, the jerky side comes out also. Surprisingly, he opens up about relationships with both the folks he pulled around and those who pulled for and supported him as well. I got the idea that this might be intended to be a visual capstone of his musical life too.

There's a bunch of funny/serious stories and a hilarious clip from a performance at the 2015 D.C. Christmas tree lighting with the Obama's in attendance. CSN's monitors must not have been working right.

So, if you get the chance, go see it. I believe most people would enjoy it.

Also, it is our anniversary today. 35 years of delightful (mostly), fruitful, wedded bliss. Yay us.

the Byrds. They played a gig at my high school back in '65. Hard to believe a group with hit records and national exposure was playing a high school, but yep, there they were.

9. Their high and tight vocals, jingly-jangly modal style and all-around talent opened the door for me.

I've caught a few recent interviews, and, well, I was surprised how well put together and lucid he is considering where he was a few decades ago. I look forward to catching the film when it comes my way.
