(102,419 posts)walk, dance, ride, fight, and just plain move with such ease, grace and knowledge/comfort in his own skin.
Even other dancers or other athletes--and those who combined talent in both. Heavens, who could have thought he could look so graceful on clunky old-style roller skates!
He was a genuinely REAL guy and kind and empathic as well. Heaven knows his love of animals gets me too.
That was a nice documentary on him. There were a number of films I'd never heard of before.
Yup, he is and will be missed.

(20,222 posts)Not only did his father die young (57), he had a sister, Vicky, who took her own life in 1994. Her death was a huge blow to the family. I believe she was bipolar. There were 2 more siblings too.

(102,419 posts)The brother didn't look incredibly healthy himself to me. Maybe he's just always been very thin?

(20,222 posts)He is an actor too, but hasn't had Patrick's success. I don't know about the other siblings. Patsy Swayze, their mom, lived into her 80s and died of a stroke a few years ago. She was the choreographer for Urban Cowboy!

(63,221 posts)It was one of my favorite movies ever and I have been trying to find it streaming w/ no luck, but he was great in it as the Golf Pro. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0444653/
With Maggie Smith, Rowan Atkinson, Kristen Scott Thomas & other well known British actors.
I would like to see the documentary. Thanks for recommending!
