Today at the movies I saw a preview with Matt Damon. I thought if they make a movie about the Dotard in 15-20 years, I could see Matt Damon in the role.

Something along the lines of Who's Harry Crumb - except he'd have to play a villain, which wasn't Candy's forté.
Still, with a comic talent like his he would've no doubt found a way.

(15,009 posts)well that brings to mind the portrayal of Jeffrey Wigand in The Insider by Russell Crowe. I also think he'd be believable when it comes to Trump's narcissism and bad temper.
But it depends on the tone of the film. If the film aims for comedy beats (as opposed to pure cringe/dread) then Damon would be better.
